Answer 1

CORRECT

When placing the vectors head to tail, this picture produces the longest vector, creating the greatest magnitude of force. Also, both vectors are acting on the point in the same general direction, giving it more force since they are acting together and not against each other like some of the other pictures. return to top

Answer 2

INCORRECT

The vector produced by putting these two vectors head to tail is not the longest one. Also, these two vectors are acting on the point in different directions, so they are working against each other and not with each other. return to top

Answer 3

INCORRECT

The vector produced by putting these two vectors head to tail is not the longest one. Also, these two vectors are acting on the point in different directions, so they are working against each other and not with each other. return to top

Answer 4

INCORRECT

The vector produced by putting these two vectors head to tail is not the longest one. Also, these two vectors are acting on the point in different directions, so they are working against each other and not with each other. return to top
