Students will understand mechanical advantage when they use this system of connected pistons. Apply force to one syringe-type piston (10ml) to make the liquid rise in the other (60ml), recreating the concept behind such everyday items as power steering, shock absorbers, hydraulic jacks, etc. Comes complete with stand (height 31cm) and instructions.

Demonstrate the effective force of air pressure

This demonstration is amazingly effective, very simple and very convincing.
Students place the edges of two hemisphere cups together and squeeze them, forcing out the air between them. In a tug of war, students try to pull the cups apart-a surprisingly difficult task. Each of the 7.5cm-diameter rubber hemispheres has a two-finger handle and two release knobs.
