Digital Timer and Photogates
The Arbor Scientific Timer lets students focus on learning the science at hand instead of mastering complicated technology. They will be collecting data within seconds of turning it on, in one of six different timing modes. Times can be collected at one photogate or both, or measure the time between the photogates. Your students will be able to experiment with pendulum motion, frequency and much more!
We have great additional add-ons for the Timer and Photogates too! These extras expand the capabilities of this economical data collection system. The Photogate Mounting Rods allow you to attach the photogates to ring stands or other clamps for those hard to reach locations. Using the Picket Fence, students can explore the affects of gravity on acceleration. The Smart Pulley is perfect for collecting accurate data in force and motion activities.
The Timers memory holds up to twenty data sets per experiment and allows for quick repetition of trials. Students then use simple measurements the length of an object, the distance between the photogates to calculate instantaneous and average velocities, accelerations, and more. No computers required!
