Demo motor - affordable
This motor is affordable so you can get several for the class. The magnetic field layout is unusual (different than we typically teach) but the variety of design is good to keep students from only seeing things one way.
Completely assembled, this open design is similar to diagrams in most textbooks and allows easy learning of motor-related principles. Magnets can be reversed to change direction of the motors rotation. To observe change of speed with current, use an external rheostat (not included). Motor can be used vertically or horizontally, for both experiments and demonstrations. Motor is lightweight and can be used with a 1.5V battery or external power supply that you provide. Instructions and storage case included.
