Tesla Coil - handheld

The Tesla-type high-frequency coil is mounted in a hard Bakelite case, sized so you can hold it in one hand. One terminal of the secondary is attached to the pointed end of the coil. A screw at the large end lets you adjust it as you need. The voltage is 40-50kV and the spark frequency is 3 to 4 MHz. The spark length is adjustable by turning a knob. You will need to turn the unit off after 10 minutes of continuous use to cool. It comes with a connecting cord and attachment plug, for use on 115 VAC. 50/60 Hz. A version with a built-in on/off switch is also available. Includes instructions. Not available in Canada. Get the one with the switch, it is easier to set up and puts less wear on the contacts.
